Has anyone here seen and loved "Hairspray"? It's one of my favorite musicals, and I LOVE the music!
They're making a movie version of the musical. (Strange; first a movie, then a musical based on the movie, and now a movie based on the musical...) The cast list is really impressive! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0427327/ I'm not sure I can see John Travolta as being Mama, though... |

I refuse to go see Hairspray. Its like a knockoff of grease. It will never beat Grease.

The original came out in 1988. I doubt their intention was to "knockoff" Grease. And really, they have very little in common. Unless the fact that they both are musicals and feature John Travolta constitutes it as a replica? |
