Geometry, HELP!

So I'm taking a summer class at a local community college. My teacher assigned a project to us:

Task 2:
Cut up an equilateral triangle so that you can rearrange the pieces into two equally sized equilateral triangles.
Task 3:
Cut up a square so that you can rearrange the pieces and make an equilateral triangle.
What did you notice as you tried to figure out the solutions? Are these three problems related in anyway?

So how should i go about doing this? Is it even possible?
I managed to do Task 1 thumbsup.gif
