Heyy Everyone.
Im not sure if there is already a thread like this one,I already searched and I couldnt find but Anyways.
I have a question.
No Offense to all you Jehovas Witness out there.
But Do you guys think its wrong for them not to do blood transfusions.
Ok..There was this emergency at the emergency,My mom told me about because she works in there and a little girl had cut her leg soo bad that she needed more blood unless she was going to loose her leg.
Anyways,The girl parents were Jehovas Witnesses and they refused to let her have blood and she lost her leg.
My question to you guys is like do you think its wrong just to let a child loose her leg,But they claim its a sin to do that,But i think If God created it to let people live longer or keep their legs or what not I think it should be put to use.

YES! okay i found a website about it:

Why don't Jehovah's Witnesses accept blood transfusions?
We follow the Bible command, found at Acts chapter 15, verse 20, Acts chapter 21, verse 25, and elsewhere, that Christians must "abstain from . . . blood." Jehovah's Witnesses request the use of nonblood medical alternatives, which are widely accepted and used by the medical community.

Acts 15:20 (New International Version)
20Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood.

(that meant not to eat meat with blood IN it)

Acts 21:25 (New International Version)
25As for the Gentile believers, we have written to them our decision that they should abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality."

(same thing)

Why don't you celebrate holidays?
We commemorate the Memorial of Christ's death, the most important religious event of the year for Jehovah's Witnesses. Throughout the year, Jehovah's Witnesses enjoy parties, picnics, and other events without feeling bound to obligations or to a fixed date. We may also celebrate special events such as weddings and anniversaries. However, we do not celebrate holidays that have non-Christian religious origins or those that promote nationalism. We are not opposed to celebrations in general or to the giving of gifts.

I guess it's nothing in the Bible they are going off of. Just a human conviction is what I am guessing.
