suggestions?, don't know how else to make this cool Options

well I don't have anything to make skins with so I just kinda put this together. got any suggestions for making this thing cooler? Thanks!

You do not need additional things, though you need to modify on some things.
1. The colors do not match. Choose two to three colors (four being the maximum) that correspond to each other. Blue, white, and orange do not match along with the background, especially with the fading color of the blogs to be VIOLET (or at least it looks like violet which is not a good sign).
2. I don't think the marquee is very necessary. Making a banner should look better, and the marquee slows down the process of loading for some computers.
3. The blog is more to the left than to the middle between the chatterbox and modules. You need to either make the blog match the size of the date width, or make the width of the date smaller.

Making using css to spruce up the links (hovering, etc.) would be nice though you don't have to do this if you do not want to.

One more suggestion...maybe one pop-up is enough? It gets kind of annoying..
