I pierced my belly button a few days ago and my parents don't know about it. I made sure the piercer sanitized everything and she seemed to know what she was doing, and I take care of the piercing. But anyways, my mom is pretty strict, she treats me like a 13 year old sometimes (i'm 16). She didn't even want me to pierce my ears a second time, and she finally let in 2 christmases ago, yet never took me to get them pierced. At first, I didn't care if she got mad about my belly button, she's too strict and didn't like my boyfriend (we had major probs because of that) and yea. We had talked about piercings and she said that she would be mad, but mostly hurt if I came home one day with my belly button pierced. I'm now in Taiwan and I won't see her for another month. I don't want to hurt her feelings TOO much since she's starting to be nicer to me, so should I write her an email or something telling her about it? Or pretend to ask and give good reasons until she says yes? asdf?!

I would try to call her on the phone if possible so it's the most direct form of communication for you. E-mail is a little more impersonal. While she might be unhappy about it at first, the time you're away will giver her a lot of time to think about it and by the time you're going to get back she'll be missing you much more than worrying about a belly piercing. Haha my mom wasn't too happy when I got my first eyebrow piercing, but she got used to it. When I got my 2nd, she just kinda shrugged it off lol.
