please read this for more info:

basically there are two options: we can have it the way it is now, where submitters are able to remove comments from their submissions or i can revoke their ability so that only staff can.

pros
-one less thing to "report" to the staff members for inappropriate content (ie bashing).

cons
-legitimate posts may be deleted because the submitters cant take criticisms
-its harder to point out its a "jocked" layout - since the submitter can remove the comment.

let the user remove it
it their words.

reasons
1 sometime they are shy and they didn't meant to said it
2 do you want the staff the read every comment to see if it appropriate. Then we need to hire more staff.
3 when you comment the original message but they delete. O well it will get backed to the bottom of the forum list (inactiuve) and with in a day it will not be seen anymore.
4 uncomfortable feeling. Can't delete your message. How can we attract more member. Cb suppose to be fun and interactive.
5 It's not like the percent of message deleted is high. 5%???
6 as for jock layout. THey delete it it ok. DO we want to rub it in. They know their mistake and their content will get criticism. criticism can hurt their feeling. After all they are a cb member. Every member contribute something to the community just by join.
7 dictatorship. give the staff to much power and we the member feel insucure
