Well im debating on weather i should settle for a nikon or a canon digital slr camera. Both have great quality pictures. Id be using them for self portraits, outside photography and using them with models but im not sure which one.

I was hoping some of you could show me comparisons tell me about the flaws and faults of both camera and in your opnion which one i should choose.

Canon has better consumer P&S cameras hands down.

It's a toss up between the two in the DSLR market. You'll have a fine camera either way. Usually what happens though is the people who shot film shot with Nikon (which was arguably the better of the two back in the film era) so they have a bunch of Nikon mount lenses, which made it smarter to stick with Nikon since they had all the lenses already. That's not to say Canon doesn't have a good suite of lenses. Canon L glass = sex.

Personally, I'd go with Canon. Canon makes their own sensors for all of their cameras. IIRC, Nikon uses cheaper Sony sensors in their lower end cameras.

If you're looking at a DSLRs, think about going for a Pentax (Samsung sells a similar camera that is essentially the same thing, though I forget the exact model name). K10D is a prosumer camera with weather seals (though I don't think Pentax has any weather sealed lenses as of yet). If you think you want a good camera and think you'll never want another camera body again, I'd consider looking into Pentax.

Pass on all the Four Thirds system cameras. 2x crop is gay.
