I was just wondering since everyone always says that if you play hard to get the guy wants you even more. Is this true? Why/why not? Feedback please.

I did this with my boyfriend. Not so much 'hard to get', but 'I'm not ready for the 'R' word'. Turned out to be the same difference really - playing hard to get is a good way in which to gage just how much someone likes you, and how far they are prepared to go.
I played hard to get with my first boyfriend for over a year; mainly because I had never been in a relationship before and I wasn't sure whether I wanted to be. It didn't put him off at all, and it showed me just how deeply and how selflessly he cared for me, and still does. As long as you're not too coy about it, and you don't use your suitors for your own ends, it's a simple way to attract those that will be right for you. Think about what they did in the good ole 'olden days'. |

Well, I think not knowing that you're ready for the relationship or finding out if the other person is even attracted to you is slightly different from playing hard to get. Playing hard to get to me is when you know the other person is attracted to you and that you are attracted to the other person as well but instead of saying so, you pretend to be not interested and, thus, prolong the inevitable. Wow, I don't even know what I typed even makes sense, but I tried. ![]() |
