why do employers, who are not willing to even give you a raise, willing to do anything it'll take to keep you around?

i go find a new job today making 8.50 an hour and accepted it. i go to tell my other job where i made 6.75 an hour that i was moving on to a newer job and she tried to do anything in her power to get me to stay, but wouldn't guarentee that i could make as much as i would at my new job. don't get me wrong, the lady is really nice, but throw me a freakin' bone; if you're going to give me 12 hours a week, DURING SUMMER, of course i'm going to move on. i was getting more than twice that DURING SCHOOL. on top of that, you're giving me the shit jobs when i am trained for much higher level jobs in the store.

i think i'll kinda miss the job, but ill miss the people more than anything. maybe that's why i hate looking for jobs so much. i mean, it was a great store and i liked it, but if you're not willing to help me out, i can't help you.

the end

I agree. This may be a lttle off topic but my dad knows this guy the been working at the hospital for 50 years or so and my dad been for 20 years. This guy have some kind of down syndrome and they still pay him 8 dollars an hour but my dad gets paid about 15 dollars an hour. Its not fair that man was working longer and get paid less but they would kill to keep him. My cousin had the experiance to have higher level at her job but they wouldn't give her a higher pay. That goes to show you, make sure you get your colloge education because they is making it harder.
