Alright, when finding new people or seeing people you haven't seen in a long time, are you one to greet them and say hello, or do you have to wait for them to come up to you?

So I'm taking summer high school courses, set with a fresh new environment and a chance to meet some new kids. But dang, there a lot of shy kids; no one seems to say hi. They just kinda look at you funny.

This whole week, I seem to have been one of the only kids to actually try to help the other kids feel more welcome and try to meet new people, since I figure they're on the same boat as I am.

Some kids are just hard to get to though. Like there's this one kid who wouldn't even tell me his first name, and today there was this lonely looking kid who I tried talking to and he didn't even reply and just looked at me funny. I said "what's up" to this one girl, and they actually looked up. And then you got those kids who act like they're deaf or something. =P

Usually, when meeting new people, I go up to them and say hi. :D Shy kids are usually hard to get through to, but they'll start talking to you eventually. Sure, it might make it awkward for them, but I think it's better than a permanent awkward silence...

But, if I see old friends that I don't talk to anymore, I wait for them to come to me. I don't like having to go up to them and being like "HEY". What if they don't remember me? I'd feel so ridiculous if they were just like "Oooh, hey, I don't remember your name..." -_-
