This recipe is flexible. The main measurements don't have to be exact. Just add the ingredients as you go and determine the amount of each item yourselves.
INGREDIENTS: Plain or vanilla crackers. No saltines! Chocolate or vanilla condensed milk. I use chocolate. 1-2 tbsp Rum [optional] Sprinkles [also optional] DIRECTIONS: 1. Crush the crackers finely. You can use a blender or a food processor if that's easier for you. I put them in a Ziploc bag and crush them with a hammer. Place the crushed crackers in a bowl. 2. Add the condensed milk just enough for the amount of crushed crackers you have. Mix together by hand until everything is incorporated. Your hand should be sticky and yummy. Add just enough, and then a touch more. 3. This is the optional step. I went to Solvang and had some rum balls, they have a distinct rum flavor, but my mother never put rum in there while growing up since she doesn't like liquor. Add a tablespoon or two of rum. A little bit goes a long way. 4. Roll the mixture into balls or whatever shape you would like. Then, coat them in sprinkles. Important : Roll the balls in the sprinkles while they're still wet and stick so the sprinkles won't fall off. 5. Place in refigerator, let it cool for 1 hour or so. 6. Eat and enjoy. |
