Although I definately believe those skatboarders should be punished because they were breaking the lay, the way the police officer handled the situation was inappropriate. Those kids could have been seriously hurt and I wouldn't be surprised if the two that were choked had muscles pulled in their neck.
True, they shouldn't have resisted the police officer... but being arrested for skateboarding? You get fined for running a red light, even if it's in a busy intersection... but you get arrested for skateboarding in a no skateboarding zone? Okay, which is more likely to kill someone: a skateboard or a car.... hm. I think their are faults on both sides, but maybe because I am a teen I am siding with the teens on this one. |
