It's reciprocal. The problem? S/He's dying. Hodgkin's lymphoma. You want to get married, the person says no. They love you enough - that's certain - but they don't want to hurt you. Ask anyone, it hurts deeply and strongly to be a widow.

Marriage to me is just like a ceremony...it cannot demonstrate how much love you have for each other. It's sort of a commitment, and if they are dying, you don't really need that commitment in order to stay together. I mean...if you're standing by his side despite his health, then you have already proven something. That's the important thing, not some ceremony to prove it.
