Thats the worst word of advice I have ever herd in my life. The commercials are biaist, and half of them are exaggerated lies anyway.

The word on the streets is that Macs are better at editing photos and videos, I own a iBook, and have to say as for editing photos, its a little over exaggerated. I have noticed no big difference between a Mac and a Windows PC on the photo editing side, I use Lightroom and Photoshop, which work on both Windows and Macintosh OSX. I have found that the LCD's on Mac laptops show black a little bit better, but that is about it.

Stability wise, who ever tells you that Macs NEVER crash are Liars. They crash just as often as my Vista PC. The highlight on the Windows side now with Vista is that if you are editing a photo and for some reason Photoshop or the program you are using crashes, it save a copy of it so that when you restart the program you can restart. The new Mac OS that is in development has this I think, from what I read.

Macs have iLife though, but the Adobe Suite for Windows and Mac is much better than all the iSofware crap you get.

For categorizing, I have both Lightroom and Aperture, and I have to say that Lightroom, on both my iBook and my Vista machine own Aperture. It has so much more to offer. It runs kind of laggish on my Mac though, which almost any program does because I only have half a gig of ram on my iBook and paid almost $2,500 for it. When my PC has almost 4 gigs of ram and only cost me $3,000.

If you are looking to spend a lot for nothing, get a Macintosh. If you are looking for a bang for your buck get a Lenovo Thinkpad or a Acer laptop. Thnkpads have been around since DOS, and they have perfected the laptop industry, they make the best notebooks on this earth.

Exaggerated? LOL Microshit Windows, SUCKS. That's a given. The worst operating system in the world. And the sad thing is, people are willing to spend $200+ for an operating system that doesn't have any security. Has a horrible embedded firewall. There is no such thing as privacy lol

The operating systems ALWAYS have bugs, you would think they'd take their time to perfect it. Instead of pushing out weight trying to make a million dollars a day by bumpin up the price of a plain old operating with a service pack already included.

Windows can't even protect you from hackers, viruses, trojans, spyware, adware, popups, malware, and other malicious attacks.

And you're gonna claim that there's programs for all of that, right? They aren't even trustworthy. Malicious attacks can come in many different forms, and no products out there for the Windows can stop 100% of the attacks. And all it takes is one privacy exposing attack that will have your personal life out in the world, including your full name, address, phone numbers, IP address, Mac address, credit card number etc..

Everything in those commercials are NOT exaggerated, do you even know the difference other than how they're operated and their GUIs? Do you know the operating power of the two? Mac... by far is more worthy/valuable.

Edit, we're speaking of operating systems here. Not machines. Overall Mac > Windows. You can even use Windows software on Mac, so it's all good :P

And the only reason why I question your knowing of Mac and Windows is because everyone in the Computing engineering field knows that Mac has done 20 times better than the Windows. People want, security, privacy, reliability, durability, performance, and eyecandy GUI.

And you're justifying your answer with the cost. I gotta find a site for you. Which proves that memory of a Mac is almost 2 times faster than the memory you'd use on a PC. That's all that matters for memory, speed and memory size.

Heck I'm runnin Linux w/ Beryl and it runs faster/smoother and more powerful than Vista. Vista is horrible! And I only have 1GB of ram, I haven't even done my bi-yearly upgrade.

I installed Vista, and I couldn't even change the theme because it would crash. I couldn't even drag the opened windows around because I would get a memory/cpu spike and start to get VERY laggy.

Linux + Beryl mutilates Vista. And Microsoft stole those ideas, they're not even original for God sakes. Vista Aero = lame.
