Unsure about, ..creatine

I've been thinking about taking creatine but is it legit? What do you guys think? Are there any short or long term side effects?

How effective is it? Cause i don't want to get TOO buff.

Hmm ok..
I asked my friend about this. He's taking it too. he said creatine puts water into your muscles to make them bigger.. it gives you energy. He also said that once you stop taking them, you'll get weaker.. for example

benching + creatine= 150lb MAX
benching without creatine (after a couple of days/weeks of quitting) = 130lb MAX.

is that true?
he also said the side effects could include pimples,dizyness.
