so what do you all think about the war on terror? is it justified? is it looking hopefull?
i think it's a load of bs, how does hunting for bin laden in Afghanistan turn into what we now have in Iraq? WMDs were non existent. The only viable reason for going to Iraq in my mind would fall under the category of libertion, but i don't think that was worth what we got ourselves and iraq into. |

...And what would this resolve? It's simple. You can learn the strategy from the Romans. What we're doing is called Imperialism. Veni, Vedi, Veci (I came, I saw, I conquered) We didn't go to Afghanistan for Bin Laden, that was just a claim. We went to Afghanistan to strategically land on our enemy's territory without making it obvious. The mission was for the oil, Bin Laden was just the excuse to go to the middle east. The WMD (weapon of mass destruction) was an excuse to go into Iraq, and eliminate their leader. We take their supplies (oil), we take down their government and replace it with ours (imperial government), and we rebuild their country OUR way (colonialism). Thus creating more jobs for both Americans and Middle Eastern Arabs, thus controlling full profit of oil (there's truly no trading, it's simply just taking and taxing). Their next leader will most likely not even be from Iraq or anywhere in the Middle East, he'll most likely be American or European. What this does now is makes a tight bond/connection with the middle east and the western world. Think of the U.S. being New York, and Iraq being California. They're far apart from each other, but they're still under 1 government with typically the same laws. Heck you could even learn the basics of Imperialism from the history of the Persians. When they over powered many nations, and united them all under 1 power. Or with the Mongolians, when they united many different tribes of Mongols and together took territory and exploited those territories for their own benefits. |
