So, I just got a call from one of my friends and she got me a job, and the boss wants me to start working tomorrow.
But, I only kind-of applied for the job yesterday, and by kind-of I mean I told my friend to ask her boss if she needed to hire anyone, and now here I am expected to come into the office as soon as possible. I'm nervous, it'll be my first job and my first time and experience in a work place. I do know what to wear, but I'm a girl and we never know what to wear. How do I go about talking to the boss and my " co- workers " and doing my job and things like that ? |

no, they dont want to hire someone who isn't interested in the job. it's your responsibility to call them and show you're interested rather than taking the easy route and hoping they'll call you. trust me. call them to set up an interview and i bet half the places would hire you if you actually took that step. See, that to me demonstrates pushiness, and a disregard for their porcedures. I recommend you apply, and allow for them to contact you if they're interested. Actually, Spencer has a valid point. This happened to me failry recently. I interviewed for a position somewhere, completely aced the interview and wondered why I never got 'the call.' My mom works there and they told her that they were really upset that I didn't call and thank them for the interview and me not following up was why I wasn't hired. That isn't always the standard, but it never hurts to follow up. ------------------ How did the first day go? (Or how is it going?) |
