I'm not sure if this goes here, probably does.

Ok, I've had PSP for a while, and it's never did this before. I wanted to put text on an image...
So I did what I usually do.
1. Click the A on the tool bar.
2. Clickedon the area I wanted to have text.
3. Then type what I want in the box.
but for the first time, I typed in a letter and it would change tools to the Pan Tool, and a a little window will come up saying.
"Paint Shop Pro has encountered a problem and needs to close We are sorry for the inconvenience." And it goes so on, about if you were working on something it might be lost, and at the bottom, it gives me to options. Send Error Report or Dont send, and then it closes.

Can anyone help with this problem?

^ Can't you save it as a PSP file? Then you can edit what you save.
