approaching a guy, who goes to my gym. Options

how do I approach this guy, whose name
I don't know, I've never spoken to, but
have been seeing in my gym for several
weeks in a row now? I catch him looking
at me alot, and once we actually locked
gazes.. Next time that happens should I
smile at him? If he smiles back, then
do I introduce myself? Or is that too soon?
If so how long do I wait? And then, what
the hell do I say??

where did i say something hateful?
its just that im not in your age group,
and it helps to get advice from someone
who has actually not only been in my situation,
but can give an anecdote, and has possibly
ever interacted with a 21 year old guy.

you can understand, 14 just isn't the type
of sage and strong advice im looking for.

i trust the guy &the 19 year old girl.
if i wanted help from a 14 year old girl,
i'd go to my little sister.

and none of that was in a hateful tone.
don't start drama where there aint none.
