Okay, Well, I wasn't sure where this would go, so I thought it'd either go in Sports or School? Feel free to move the topic if you find it necessary.

Well, I'm going to be a freshmen in Highschool next year, and I was wondering...do you need experience to try out for a sport? I want to try out for soccer, but I have no experience whatsoever. Do they usually just accept everyone? Is there anything I can do to train a little by myself, so the chances of getting in are more likely? Most people at my school have already taken a specific sport to get into that sport in highschool, so I thought I wouldn't be able to get in since I have no experience.

Thankss if you can reply to this happy.gif

Ok so I play soccer for my high school and here is what you need to know.

You should probably start to go for long distance runs. believe me if you have good endurance soccer coaches will like you. If you have never played before you should practice just kicking a ball. See if you don't look like a total fool. Along with long distances you should also practice sprints.

If your tryouts are anything like mine were, then you should stalk up on as much icy hot as you can buy.

MOST IMPORTANT:

Focus on building endurance and getting in very good shape. You can always be taught how to play different positions by the coaches. If you can I would try and watch some soccer games on TV if you can. That way you can at leist have a decent feel for the game.

Hope this helped
