Has anyone ever had their wisdom teeth removed? If so were you able to eat anything after words? and if so.. what were you able to eat.

I got mine taken out in December, and as soon as I got home, one of the first things I did was eat some Jello and some pudding.
For the first two days after the surgery, that's all I ate, along with mashed potato from KFC, Frosties from Wendy's, and custard. I probably would have eaten soup if I liked it. On the third day I was actually able to eat solid food. I ate scrambled eggs, and in the evening I had two little hamburgers from McDonalds. I found that those were easy to eat because they were so soft, although I had to be careful to only eat in the middle of my mouth so that no food got stuck in the cavities. On the fifth or six day, I was pretty much able to eat as normal, but only with extreme caution. If you suck too much when you're eating, you'll get dry socket. So be sure to eat things that you don't have to suck on. Although from what I understand, eating solid food on the third day is not too common, so I wouldn't expect that to be the same for you. You should just stock up on lots of liquid and soft food. ;) |
