The pursuit of happiness has led me astray.
I have commanded my will and been defeated. Pain, death and agony are my faithful friends. Where does optimism live? "Take action and make the best of it!" Therapeutic mantras offer little hope. Immediate pleasure offers a reprieve. Even sex and drugs become self-defeating. I have everything I need except a reason to live. I think I'll have a smoke. |
