Heyy Everyone.
Im not sure if there is already a thread like this one,I already searched and I couldnt find but Anyways. I have a question. No Offense to all you Jehovas Witness out there. But Do you guys think its wrong for them not to do blood transfusions. Ok..There was this emergency at the emergency,My mom told me about because she works in there and a little girl had cut her leg soo bad that she needed more blood unless she was going to loose her leg. Anyways,The girl parents were Jehovas Witnesses and they refused to let her have blood and she lost her leg. My question to you guys is like do you think its wrong just to let a child loose her leg,But they claim its a sin to do that,But i think If God created it to let people live longer or keep their legs or what not I think it should be put to use. |

I think if it came down to a matter of life and death the hospital should step in if it's something that can be done and keep the girl/boy healthy and normal for the rest of their live (i.e. not a vegetable). I do think that when it comes to matters like losing a leg, the parent is the parent and they should have the ultimate decision. Of course there are exceptions to everything.

If a parent refuses to allow a doctor to do whats in the child's best interests, then I think the hospital should step in, especially in severe cases like this. Even though a parent has ulitmate control over their child, their wishes may not always benefit the child. What if the poor girl would have died over this?
Does anyone know why Jehovah's dont believe in blood transfusions? Is it stated somewhere in their holy book (or whatever its called, sorry) that it's a sin? |

Jehovah's Witnesses still use the same Bible as any Christian, but it's stated somewhere in the Old Testament that you can't take another's blood. Which is why all of my Filipino Jehovah's Witnesses friends don't eat the Filipino dish dinardiraan that contain's pig blood.Does anyone know why Jehovah's dont believe in blood transfusions? Is it stated somewhere in their holy book (or whatever its called, sorry) that it's a sin? In the parent's place, I would've allowed the blood transfusion, because I know several Jehovah's Witnesses and while they're pretty damn strict with their laws and such, I doubt that they'd go that extreme. |
