I just recently got a camera and it kind of dropped. Now the lens is sticking out and it won't close. When I press the on/off button nothing happens except the light flashes and you can sort of see the screen go from black to a dark shade of gray. I'm not sure if my warranty/plan thing covers this but if it doesn't, do you know where/how I can get it fixed and about how much it'll be? I haven't exactly told my parents about it yet cause they'll flip out on me and the camera isn't even two months old yet. pinch.gif

I called up the manufacturer's and they said that I have to send in my camera by mail. Then they'll check on it and see if my problems fall under my warranty cause the warranty that I have doesn't cover drops/water damage. And this just happened to be from a drop. They said that if the warranty doesn't cover the damage, from what I explained through the phone it would be either 90 or 130 dollars.

After I told my parents, they went crazy. My mom was so upset she was like "If you have to pay money then forget it, you can just forget about the camera and throw it out. You're so irresponsible blahblah."

I hate it when my parents are mad/disappointed in me. It makes me so mad and frustrated at myself for being so careless. Oh and I'm 15.

Mom came home, tossed the camera around and ended up messing up the lens even more. Great, isn't it?
By any chance is there a difference if the manufacturer's fixed it compared to if I took it to a camera repair store?
