some of my friends rub their skin with erasers, which give them extremely deep cuts. I say that it's the same thing as cutting but they disagree. so i have two questions: do you think it's equivalent to cutting? and how can i get them to stop (i don't know why they don't stop i heard it hurts EXTREMELY bad)

My best guy friend started that last year because he was depressed about this girl. Then he got his other friends to start doing it, too because they wanted to see "how far they could go". They ended up getting trouble because they got caught.
My guy friend now has a huge scar on his handds that will take forever to go away. He's scarred for life.  IMO, it wasn't worth it.  And yes, I think it's equally as dangerous/hurtful as cutting. Well, maybe not..but..it's still self-mutalation. And to everyone saying it's "immature" it really is. They were in 7th grade. We're in 8th now. It looked like it HURT.
