Do any of you like or play classical music? I like and play classical music on piano. I play pieces by composers such as Liszt, Chopin, Alkan, Beethoven, Bach, Rachmaninoff, Gershwin, Prokofiev, Stravinsky, and Bartok. My over all favorite composer is Chopin. He has composed some of the hardest etudes for piano known to man. So, who is your favorite classical composer?

Oh, if any of you perform would you mind posting your repertoire?
Here's mine: Liszt: Funèrailles La Campanella Mephisto Waltz no. 1 Chopin: Etude op. 10 no. 4 Etude op. 25 no. 6 Bartok: Piano Sonata for Solo Piano Prokofiev: Toccata op. 11 Piano Sonata no. 7 Rachmaninoff: Prelude in G Minor Prelude in C-Sharp Minor Etude in A Minor Moszkowski: Etude in F Major Since I can't pick a favorite, I'll go with my top 3 favorite composers... I love Liszt's pieces, especially the Hungarian Rhapsodies- finger work is pretty tough but it all sounds amazing once everything is put together. I also adore Chopin and Beethoven, Beethoven because of the passion and emotion that soars out of his work, in particular his sonatas for piano. Oh, and I'll agree with you that Chopin's etudes are freaking hard to perform... Ahh, I love this thread. ![]() Tchaikovsky I love his 1st concerto. |
