certain divs not showing in layout., due to code to hide bottom links and copyright. Options

Sorry to bother yet again over something so small I am just to blind to see it.

I put in the code to hide the links on the bottom and the copyright. However, it is hiding some of the divs in my layout in the info box. The classes that it is hiding are the left and right. Try the code out if you must. And if I take it out, the links show in firefox, and the styles that I have in the left and right classes end up positioning all weird. On top of that problem, the boxes are supposed to be fixed so that the whole page DOESN'T scroll. There is a big space that is floating around under them and makes the page as a whole scrollable. I tried changing the overflow to none but it is still scrollable and the big space that makes it scrollable is still there.

If someone can help me, thanks ahead of time.
