It's not that it grows back thicker than it was before, but that it grows back at the thickness it was before.
When the hair originally comes out it's quite thin and it comes out nice and smoothly. As you develop etc your hair gets thicker. It does this gradually however, so the soft skin doesn't get irritated by it. When you shave it all off, it comes back nice and thick and goes right through the soft skin. That also causes the redness/itching *shrug* |
