Do any of you know any good remedies that are just around in the house to help stop the itching of poison ivy? I have been using Benadryl since about wedsday and its not seeming to work that well. The only time it worked was last night.

And do you know any good off the counter products that can help?

If my poison ivy doesn't clear up by Monday, I'm going to see a doctor for some prescription.

I read this from a remedy book:

QUOTE
First, wash the area with soap and water, rinse, and wash it again. Some Native Americans apply a paste made from the jewelweed plant, which grows right next to poison ivy and poison oak, as curves often do. But if you don't have any jewelweed around, rub the area with the rind and flesh of a watermelon to stop the itching. You can also dab Milk of Magnesia on a cotton ball and apply to the area.

Products:
-Epoch Calming Touch Soothing Skin Cream (with jewelweed)
-Oak-N-Ivy Brand Tecnu Outdoor Skin Cleanser (wash with this immediately after contact to remove the oils that case rash and itching).
