prove to me that there's something after death. 1) We are not our bodies. 2) Being born into certain living conditions. 3) Clinical death situations and their stories of experiencing "life after death." 4) The Dalai Lama and similar situations in which children unexposed to media can recall their pasts.(I'm implying reincarnation.) |

1) We are not our bodies. 2) Being born into certain living conditions. 3) Clinical death situations and their stories of experiencing "life after death." 4) The Dalai Lama and similar situations in which children unexposed to media can recall their pasts. (I'm implying reincarnation.) Reincarnation is the stupidest theory but as much as I hate to admit it, it is entirely plausible. Einstein's theory of energy held the idea that energy is eternal and can never be depleted, merely changed. So the idea that the energy of one life can be shifted to inhabit a new life is plausible. But the idea of Kharma and being either rewarded or punished for the acts of your past life is bullshit. It is possible that our energy can carry some form of memory, so we may remember things from a past life. But your beliefs and/or actions have nothing to do with it. And anyone who will decide to critique this idea(and I know you're all just itching behind the surface) can shut the f**k up. What do you think the idea of a soul is? A soul is the displaced energy our bodies once held. It is the energy within us which gives us our extrasensory perception, like when you feel that someone is looking at you and when you look up they're staring at you, or how when you walk into a room where fighting has occured you feel either anger or fear. NDEs(Near Death Experiences) are merely our dying brains fulfilling what our beliefs are. Why do you think a Christian NDE will see Jesus or God, yet an Islamic NDE will see Allah. If you live your life believing that Barney and the Grimace are your saviors, your NDE will be full of purple mosters. We all have our beliefs, I myself hold the belief that there is no higher power. This is not arrogance or ignorance talking, you have no idea how much I would love to have unquestioning blind faith in a God that will answer my prayers and guide me through life because I can say without a doubt that I am utterly lost. The problem is that my rational mind would never allow this. It's not fair to me, I want to have faith. But wanting and truly believing are two very different things. I know this about myself, there is nothing in life that can ever make me believe in a higher power because there is always an explanation, even for the things we have not yet discovered. In 500 years, I believe we will have undenying evidence that show how humans came to be, how the universe was formed, all the secrets of life we have yet to discover. It just takes time. 500 years ago, we all thought the world was flat, that Earth was the center of the Solar system, and no one questioned the notion of God and his divine plan. But we've learned better, haven't we. |
