End nationalism. Unify the world. Establish a single government. All the people sharing all of the world. Eliminate foreign competition, immigration, tax havens and comparative wealth. That's four birds with one rock.

Oh no, smells like Communism. Not exactly. Who said anything about absolute equality?You lose diversity and culture once you merge nations together. It can't be like a tossed salad, something like America is right now?^ Well, yes, an efficient government could lead to that. Which is mooted by the fact that an efficient governement at that level is a fanatasy. It is simpy too big in scope. Would it be agreeable to say that a world government would be desirable, but simply improbable for us to accomplish?
Central government for al affairs doesn't even work in the US, hence the need for Federalism, or even in the UK, which is yet smaller, hence the devolved bodies. |
