Why do some words carry more power than others? Is it because the way it sounds? Who it comes from? The actual object it describes?

Because of the things we associate with that word? Like, the first thing you think about/picture when somebody says ____ defines what that word means to you. For example.... tsunami. For one person it'll simply mean a series of massive waves, but for another, it could bring back all sorts of unpleasant memories and therefore be a much more 'powerful' word to them. |

![]() Oh hon', I've performed a vagina monologue. 'Twas muy fun-o. Srsly. Because of the things we associate with that word? Like, the first thing you think about/picture when somebody says ____ defines what that word means to you. Yeah, I think there's a lot of emotion behind words that make me that much more powerful. But what about the ones that seem to be powerful for everyone, regardless of past experience.
For example.... tsunami. For one person it'll simply mean a series of massive waves, but for another, it could bring back all sorts of unpleasant memories and therefore be a much more 'powerful' word to them. |
