My mom always tells me that I'm going to be in a bad way when she dies because of all the terrible things I've said to her.
In part, she's right. We don't get a long terribly well, which I hate because I'm never met my father and would have loved it if I could have had a close relationship with my mother. It just didn't work out that way. When we get angry with each other, we get ANGRY. I have said things to her that are so hateful, so bitter and so piercing that even I am in shock when I hear myself speak it. It's something of a regret I live with every day. |
