I'm writing an article about Mother's Day and I wanted to know from all of you:
A) How do you normally celebrate Mother's Day? B) Is there any lessons about life (or lessons in general) that you have learned from your mother or any lessons that she has learned from you (her children)? C) Did you ever forget about Mother's Day and failed to give your mom something special? What happened and what did she do? Thanks guys. |

A) How do you normally celebrate Mother's Day? This year's gonna' be way different, but in the past we normally just went out for lunch. When we were younger, my brother and I would wake up extra early to try to wake her up and say "Happy Mother's Day!", but she was always such an early riser we always failed at that. There haven't been any really special gifts we've given her for that day, which I regret, but once we did give her a very special four page-card on two colors of construction paper (![]() B) Is there any lessons about life (or lessons in general) that you have learned from your mother or any lessons that she has learned from you (her children)? Oh God, where do I start? From her, I've learned so, so, so, so much. The biggest one that comes to mind is really willpower and how anything is possible with enough of it. Through us (and this has nothing to do with my brother and I as individuals, more like through being a mother) she said that she learned to pick her battles. Your kids love you, they really really really do, they just have a very interesting way of showing it.C) Did you ever forget about Mother's Day and failed to give your mom something special? What happened and what did she do? Heh, I didn't realize that I half-answered this in the first question. I've never forgotten Mother's Day, but I always dreamed up in my in the weeks before of planning something really big before, but my ass was too heavy and instead of taking a few seconds to lift it I'd just sit there and think about it during commercial breaks. That I really, really, really regret. I think my mother noticed, but didn't really mind. I think her spin on Mother's Day is more an excuse to spend time as a family than to celebrate a mother.....wow, long answer. Make my mother proud, that would. ![]() And btw, school assignments usually go to the School forum, but since this is about Mother's Day, I'll just keep it here. (: |
