Round One: A Solo Approach

In this round, the rookie will have to think. OH NO! Yes. Think. You will need to think about HOW you want your site to look. Which means you need to get down and dirty with those pesky details. We need details! Color scheme, alignment, content, etc. etc. etc. Anything and EVERYTHING you can think of must go on this plan! E.g., a color swatch, a rough outline of the layout, etc.

In addition to the plan, we need a relative header/banner. Well, maybe not relative, but rather rough. Incorporate your logo that you designed, maybe a slogan. Remember, simplicity is elegance, but be unique! Now, I say 'rough' because once you meet up with your star, your star may teach you new things that might persuade you to want to change your header.
So, all in all, create a DETAILED plan, and a rough header.

Try to get your headers and plan in by Saturday May 5th, 2007! PM them to Azarel or mona lisa for now.

I've been asked to clarify so I will as much as possible. Kristina means business when she says rookies will have to think.

Create a plan of your layout. If you need to make visuals, i.e., a rough sketch of the layout to help you, do that. As it's been said, you may have to make adjustments to rough is good. Make a list of all that you want to do or incorporate into your layout: the placement of the logo, the slogan if you're going to use one, and the header/banner, how many columns, use of animations/flash/etc., color scheme, content, etc. This is just off the top of my head so you're definitely not limited to these.

This would all really help to pair you with the star best suited to teach you.

It may be a bit vague, but that's only to give you as much freedom as possible to do what you please.
