I decided that I need a makeover for how to do my hair, clothes, face (make up), etc. Well, right now...I look kind of plain and I just want to get a lot girlier.

Right now, I have long, straight Asian hair and I was thinking of getting a perm. I wanted to get loose curls with side bangs. I have a narrow face, so I thought that the volume would balance it out. As for my clothes, I used to wear tops and jeans that were really unflattering. I found out that aeropostale have good prices for clothes that are more fitted. So overall, I think that the hair and clothes is taken care of. I just really need tips on my face.

I have tons of acne & acne scars (curse those crazy hormones) and back then, I didn't really try to cover them up or anything. Recently, I have tried to cover them up with Bare Minerals from my mom and it matches with my skin tone..but the acne scars are still noticable and the acne are seen as bumps. If I put on too much of the Bare Minerals to make the scars unnoticable, then the makeup becomes cakey. You see what I mean? Once I solve my acne problem, then I'll start to put on blush to enhance my make up routine.

So I put alot of thought into this "transformation" but I mainly need help on my skin problem I guess. If you have any hair, makeup, skin tips/suggestions, please share. :]

First of all, change your part. If it's middle, do a dramatic side part (use the outer corner of your eye for reference). If it's already a side part, switch your bangs - get them short or sweep them to the side. Asians look cute with bangs. Maybe you should get highlights. You don't need a perm to get a dramatic change. If you normally wear your hair up, wear it down. If you wear it down, pull it up into a messy, but cute bun. Put layers into your hair if you don't have any.

I'm not a huge fan of Aeropostale because it's a shitty store. Also, it seems like just jeans + unflattering tops which you said you already wear. I think shopping at girlier places like Forever 21 will help you change your style. I know that Forever 21 is shopped at by MANY girls, but they still have tons of cute things. Another good idea would be to shop at stores like TJ Maxx (spelling?), Old Navy, Ross, etc. They have tons of cuter, flouncier outfits. You should switch to skirts + pretty tank tops + dress tops, etc. Maybe even skinny jeans? ;) I love Levi's.

For makeup, I use Clinique perfectly real compact make-up. It works amazing, because it's sheer. I have really clean, unscarred skin, though :/ Maybe you can go to Prescriptives and ask them to make you specific color. Or if you want a cheaper alternative, go to ULTA and ask them for help. They have good stuff.
