So my boyfriend and I went out to dinner. We had a really great time together,That was until we got home and we found my cat unconscious. So we rushed him to a animal hospital and I get the news that my cat is suffering from kidney faliure,And that are only opption is to put him down.
He has a week or 2 to live or I have the option of taking him tommrow so he can go into a peaceful sleep and rest in peace without anymore suffering. What do you do?,How do you prepare to tell your best friend goodbye forever? So my question to you is... Who in your life do you take for granted? And what would you do if god forbid the day you find out that that person or pet has 2 weeks to live or you could have them put out of their misery and suffering and let them jsut go into a deep sleep that they could never wake up from? What whould you chose? |

I've learned to not take anyone that I love for granted. A lot of people think it's strange. The people who I love, I tell them that I love them everyday. I don't ever want to lose someone and not have that closure. God forbid, something would happen... I'd always be able to say that the last thing I told that person was that I loved them. It makes it easier to deal with them not being there.
I've lost many people in my life. The summer before last was the hardest, because four of my friends died. This summer my mom's adoptive dad died... I dealt with his death easier than I thought I would because the last thing I said to him was that I loved him. The biggest regret in my life is that I didn't get to see my grandfather before he past away. He lived with us, and was the only male figure I had in my life. I still cry when I think about him, because I've never had complete closure. He left for the hospital (where he'd die) when I was at school... My mother and I were on our way to go see him... and before we went to leave she wanted to iron out my dress so I'd look nice for my grandpa... and that's when we got the call. This post got super long. But all in all... I think I can honestly say that I don't take any moment with people I love for granted. I know that they might not be there tomorrow... |

That whole two weeks thing; that happened to me extremely, extremely recently. All I did was let her know I love her, that I'd make her proud, that I'm sorry for everything, and basically everything I needed to say I said. I had to think to myself "There is a very high risk that this will the last moment." Thank goodness I told her that I love her and held her hand; if I put out of my hand and close my eyes, I can imagine the last time she held it. |

Aww The worst part for me is when I start to forget their features, what they looked like, how they felt. I was only 10 when my grandpa passed away (7 years this summer) and I've never forgotten what his hugs felt like and what he looked like. It makes me feel guilty when I start to forget the little things of people after they're gone... it makes me feel like it's the least I can do is remember them. Sorry, if this has turned into more about humans than cats |
