Me and my friend were discussing tonight that we have spent most of our lives silencing ourselves simply because we fear being critisized. Do you like it better when people just keep things to themselves or when they just tell you straight up how they feel?

I definately prefer it if somebody just tells me what they are thinking...

It really depends on how it's said, because if you're going to point out all of my faults in one sitting in harsh, rude way, then I'd much rather you keep your words to yourself. But if it something that I can learn from; I do care what they're thinking. As long as it's in an appropriate manner, then sure, I can be all ears.

Then there is the way of defining the word "appropriate", which really can range anywhere from watered-down to being blunt.
