The first source (the wordpress blog) just mentions is that games are being pushed back. I don't care if a game is delayed as long as they're fixing things rather than rushing to get it out on time. Miyamoto said something along the lines of a delayed game is eventually good, a rushed game is bad forever. CliffyB didn't attempt to rush Gears of War, he said it'll be finished when it's finished and the game came out nicely polished. People said the same thing about the Nintendo DS, but look where it is now.

I love how you say this when even that graph you quoted shows the slope of releases going up. You're selecting bits and pieces instead of looking at the big picture to form your opinions. If that's what you're going to do, then at least stop undermining your points by presenting evidence that contradicts them.

Not to mention that the "number of games available" doesn't really say much. A single hit game will singlehandedly keep a console alive for several months. If you were making a console, would you rather have five decent games available or one "hit" game?

As you can see there's no shortage of companies that want to release games for the Wii. Although, there's a question of the quality of games coming out, but at least it demonstrates that third party developers are more inclined to develop for the Wii than, say, the Gamecube.

its been all over the place, and logically thinking, because its not gaining software, and there is barely any credible 3rd party games to be found, i had that feeling as well. it feels there will be nothing to fill in the gap between now, and x mas season when Galaxy and metroid 3 come out

All over the place? How is that a bad thing? Don't you want to cater to a diverse group of gamers rather than just one crowd?

I'm guessing they're expecting Super Paper Mario, Pokemon Battle Revolution and Mario Party 8 to carry the Wii through Q2. Dunno what their Q3 release schedule is. I still can't see where the Wii is doomed though.

just looking at what they have to offer software wise and what i will be getting in the future, its pretty...weak. of course they did well at the start, thats to be expected. but you cant base that off of the systems future, because the gamecube did the exact same thing. had a good start, but slowly went down because of software issues, the exact same issue the wii seems to be having.

I think this is more like the DS vs PSP. The DS was a cheaper handheld with innovative controls, whereas the PSP was a more expensive and feature rich handheld. People criticized the DS and its lineup, and look at the race now. Like the Wii, it had a pretty good start, both during its regular launch and with the DS Lite.

and in this aspect, the wii will have lost in my eyes, and many others. and lets say the wii just may win in making profits, but it will lose in becoming the gamers console. and thats much worse in my opinion. yeah you are making profits right now, but at what costs?

The gamer's console... So the thing is Nintendo is releasing the same games as its always been. You said that you used to love Nintendo and Sega games. I guess that means that you weren't a gamer back then since they weren't releasing games like the ones being released for 360/PS3. Or are claiming that Nintendo is selling out? Cause I don't think that could be further from the truth.
