Having tried Vista today, I honestly don't see any significant improvement over the previous version except maybe that the interface is now even tackier. I know I am switching over to Macintosh since I'll be damned if I ever pay 300 euros for this x(. I am suprised you didnt see the changed. Apparently you did not install anything. The security features in Vista are so strict it is amazing, not to mention after a while they become annoying. Not only did they add multiple feature to the average use of Windows, they have a lot included more software with the OS. Two that most versions come with are Windows Defender and a year free of One Step or whatever Microsoft’s version of a Symantec is. Plus, you must have some bad taste, because the interface is amazing, if you want to see tacky look at some Linux GUI’s that are supposedly on the same par as Vista and OSX. One of the HUGE deals in Vista that is not pre installed in any other OS is Parental Controls, which are actually extremely nice in Vista. It creates report cards of where the account with the controls set have been website wise, what time of the day they can use the computer, which rated games they can play, which words they can see, what they can install, and much more. Not to mention toe wide array of drives that are preinstalled, and drivers that can actually be downloaded from the Update site. More and more network security settings (I will post a screen shot.) that allow you to turn off file sharing with one click. Plus less restart requests. I have yet to connect to a wireless network, but I have read there are many new features there as well. ![]() Who said people aren't still using Windows? Besides, 20 millions copies is what percentage of the Windows installed user base? How long has it been out? Yea, I would like to see Apple sell this ammount of anything within the first months of release. Although I am sure the iPhone might be able to do it. But, when Service Pack 1 comes out, Windows Vista will be selling like hot cakes, Just like Windows XP did. |
