Photoshop help resizing makes it pixelly

I have this image and it's in pretty good quality but everytime time i resize it it gets really pixelly anf blurry. Am i surpose to do sumthing to the image so it doesn't become like that. I'm trying to make sorta sumthing like a botton so the image is gonna be realy small.

Honey, there are two reasons why things aren't working out.

1) You're viewing the image at 80.7% for the "before" image; try percentages at 25, 50, 75 or 100 percent to make it look better as a preview.

2) You're resizing the image to 8 by 6 pixels. 8 by 6 pixels is absolutely MINISCULE. If I were to illustrate 8 by 6 pixels, it'd look like this: That's shorter that this line of text. You're viewing it at 644%, that's why it looks pixelly. To get an accurate representation of what your image actually looks like, view your images at 100%. (click the magnifying glass and click the box on the bottom toolbar that says "Actual Pixels")

I wouldn't try messing around with the DPI unless you really know what you're doing (and DPI is only usually useful for printwork, but since you look like you're mainly on the internet, it doesn't matter).

How large was your original image, and how large would you like your image to be resized to?
