^ Of course, when you take a step back and look at the whole playing field, Arjuna, you have to realize that when Ocarina of Time came out, it was so far ahead of its time. That's what made it such and epic Zelda game. Same applies for A Link to the Past for the SNES. But now with everyone and their mother making these huge, epic RPGs, it's much harder to capture that epic feel. That feel has become a standard now a days for video games.
We have to look at it compared to games today. It definitely was the most epic adventure to come out last year, and that's why it has won Game of the Year for 2006 across the board. And yes, I'll agree that the ending wasn't as huge as I'd hoped, but I was asking for a whole lot after that whole Wind Waker trip they went on. I think it's a little much to say this game was disappointing in any aspect. We expect so much out of the Zelda franchise that it's become an almost necessity to have this ground breaking game as a result. It's just hard to do that now a days with everyone aiming for that same goal. |
