id probably date for 2 years. then have a looong engagement. like, another 2 years or so.

if we're going to get married, why hurry?

It all depends on when you meet/start dating. At my age right now, I'm not even 18 yet. I've been with my boyfriend for nearly a year, and though it's definitely not a certain thing, we've discussed what we would do about marriage. About 3 or 4 years from now we'd move in together, and then sometime within the next year or two after that, we would get engaged. We wouldn't marry until we were both 24 or 25. Not a sure thing, but it's had some thought put into it.

If we're talking like... when I was 21 or 22, or even older, probably around a year of dating before engagement. It just varies depending on the chemistry and the timing and everything.
