Respect. Everybody wants it. Everybody thinks they deserve it. However, we all know that's not necessarily the case. What warrants respect here? Yes, this is a duplicate thread, but it's two years later and it's a completely different audience. What is it about certain members on createBlog that merits your respect? Their join date? Their post count? Their popularity? The quality of their posts? How they regard (or disregard) the rules? Is it because you're intimidated by or envious of them?
I've already posted my thoughts on this before and would like to see what other people say before I put them up again (because I want to read original opinions rather than "yeah, I agree," and the like). |

Generally speaking, I tend to appreciate people being straight forward with their intentions and opinions, whatever those may be, over most of everything else. If anything, because it makes it easier to share a (virtual) meeting place when you don't have to wonder about the real reasons behind people's actions.
Other than that, the level of respect I concede is also determined by simple things such as not sharing X herd's mentality, not being abusive, and being excellent to each other. =P |
