Got no respect if you ain't trying to do the right thing. Options

Respect. Everybody wants it. Everybody thinks they deserve it. However, we all know that's not necessarily the case. What warrants respect here? Yes, this is a duplicate thread, but it's two years later and it's a completely different audience. What is it about certain members on createBlog that merits your respect? Their join date? Their post count? Their popularity? The quality of their posts? How they regard (or disregard) the rules? Is it because you're intimidated by or envious of them?

I've already posted my thoughts on this before and would like to see what other people say before I put them up again (because I want to read original opinions rather than "yeah, I agree," and the like).

• You're avatar is cool. ( )
• You are popular.
• You're a mod. ( )

Kaycee after first month:

You have my respect if:

• You don't just post for the hell of it. If your posts something I enjoy reading, then you're (insert positive adjective here).
• You are, overall, nice. Mean people suck. Forward, respectful, honest people don't suck. Just because a post is negative, it does not mean it's mean or rude.
• You follow the rules. It's not that hard, really. And sometimes when people don't, it feels unappreciated, but really, it's not.

On a side note, I'm sad that I don't catch the reference in the title. One day, I will, I swear! I swear! (Hopefully.)
