annoying "friend" Options

Well, theres this girl I know, her names Ashley. Anyways shes the type of person that always wants the attention from everybody, wants like 3842039482 friends, and is like a huge crybaby. Well Ashley thinks we're like best friends when we're NOT. So I started avoiding her, and I didn't really talk to her. [Like if she said Hi to my in the halls, I would just say Hi and leave instead of starting a conversation]. And when she didn't notice anything different, I told her that I thought it would be better if we didn't hang out a lot. [Was that too mean? ><] Well she went home and told her mom, and her mom called my mom who got mad at me for being mean. Then, Ashley's mom told her sister that she wouldn't be able to talk to me. And I was close friends with Ashley's sister. YOU DON'T KNOW HOW ANNOYING SHE IS. [She cries a lott, too]

How can I tell her that she's annoying [in a nice way] and tell her to stop bothering me?

Aah, same thing happened to me just a while ago.

What I did, basically, was kind of ignore her, and just go along with another group of friends, you know, the kind that is usually just fun to hang out with. She started to get less clingy because I didn't pay any attention to her.

That's right. The best way to get her off your back is to just ignore her in any possible way. Sure, you can say "Hi" back, or "I'm good, you?" if she asks how you're doing. But if she gets too clingy, just start walking and nod your head. Eventually, she'll be tired of you just standing there and leave.

At least that's what I did, and it worked for me.
