I've heard really terrible stories abou uber-competive-ness at school; like dog-eat-dog in the classroom in high school.
Nobody at my school is like, extremely cut-throat, but there are kids who will do anything to one-up that one certain person who always seems to "beat them" without trying. |

Honestly, I used to be like that.
"In your face, bitch, I got a 104%. Take that to your 103%." or whatever. Then I got to high school and I was like, "f**k it. When will I need this for the real world, huh?" and there are still people in my geometry class that are like, "Are you going to take Algebra II honors next year?" and I'm just being honest by saying no, and they get all over my case and getting all serious like, "What? Do you want to go to a good college? You can't get into a good college with non-honors classes." and I just told them I wanted to go to a local college. ;D |
