Jeez, why are people so worried about spam lately? I wish we could all just lighten up for once and not have to worry about stuff like this. If you want to make an appreciation thread for Mona, do it, don't worry about adding on a question to make it "legit". You know what'll happen? People will post, agree or disagree, it'll be on the front page of the Lounge for a while, and then it'll disappear. And nobody will be hurt in the process. Sure we have a "moderator performance" and a "staff member of the month" thread, but let me reiterate the fact that nobody's been hurt. Yes, technically, threads like this would get closed, but WHY? Honestly? In my opinion, the only time a thread should really get closed is if it is really out of control spam or if an argument is getting out of control. The words "out of control" are key here.

As for the question, I could go into specifics about how this is really just a duplicate thread that is basically "favorite cB members" or "who do you have a crush on" or "let's just cut to the chase and list all our friends" worded differently. But I do agree that Mona's doing a good job, I'm not particularly feeling like a tyrant tonight, I think Mona should be able to see this, AND I'll go back to my "why should this be closed" discussion.. for those reasons, I'll leave this as it is. But please, it's annoying when people post a topic that may be somewhat pointless but still might be fun for a couple of days, then post a generic question that is a hell of a lot less interesting than the original topic. I see that the members have caught on to the loophole that will keep their topics open, but here's an idea. Just make the topic anyway, and if it gets closed and you really think there was a potential for real discussion, PM the mod to discuss why it was closed. If their answer isn't good enough to satisfy you, PM someone else about it. Your topic may not get reopened, but at least not every topic you make will get closed.
