You're only starting to fall for him because of the realization that he liked you previously. That triggers your mind to pretend into thinking you like him, and you start to believe it.

Completely agreed with the first paragraph. It's not exactly why, but it's close... People start to fall for an individual in this type of situation for a variety for reasons. Simply put, we all have a desire to be loved. When we see that someone likes us we are attracted to them because of the possibility of them fulfilling this desire. You're brain flies off to an imaginary world thinking for what it could be like if you dated that individual. With positive thought after positive thought, a snow-ball-rolling-down-a-hill effect eventually occurs leaving you with these shallow feelings of attraction. |
