Okay.. I'm wanting to put all the music I have on my ipod onto my new laptop... but I'm afraid of trashing it out. Most of my music (all mp3 files) are from limewire. Is it possible that some of the mp3 files could have viruses or spyware in them... or is that impossible? I just wanted to make sure they'd be 100% safe before putting them on my laptop.

I speak from experience.
I downloaded all my songs from Limewire and one of them had a virus. Or maybe more than one. My laptop got infected and i had to get it fixed and lost my computer for a whole week, there being so many infected files. It cost quite a bit too... Anyway, I transferred songs to my iPod and it's safe, on the iPod at least. iPods/mp3s have some sort of software i guess, that if there's a virus, i don't think it will affect it. My iPod is fine and my computer's clean. Just watch out with what you're downloading. |
